The Frank Watson Prize

The Frank Watson Prize was a competition run by the Association to encourage, recognise and reward apprentices who have come through their training having shown an ability and ambition in their place of work and college studies.

Local employers were invited to nominate apprentices through written applications, which are then short listed prior to judging interviews. During these interviews a panel of judges question individuals on topics such as engineering knowledge, contribution to their company, career achievements to date, ambition etc in order to select a winner.
