Visit to VTL Technical Solutions Centre, Huddersfield

The Keighley Association of Engineers is pleased to announce its next event in the 2014 syllabus, a visit to VTL Automotive based in Huddersfield.
VTL Automotive manufacture a wide range of components and assemblies used in turbochargers, transmission, engines and braking systems for some of the world’s leading automotive brands.
VTL (formerly known as Sagar-Richards) have an engineering pedigree going back to 1919 with a reputation for high quality engineering in forging, machining and casting components. In 1997 they was acquired by the Valeo Group, investing in process equipment and ‘Lean’ manufacturing principles, based upon the Toyota Production System. In November 2001, the current owners undertook a management buyout. Since that point, the business has grown considerably from £8m in revenues in 2001 employing 80 people, to a projected £100m in 2014 with over 500 people
