The Keighley Association of Engineers is pleased to announce its October 2015 event, a visit to The Centre for Polymer Micro and Nano Technology located at Bradford University.
The Centre for Polymer Micro and Nano Technology
Recent advances in micro and nano-technology are realising devices with a huge range of applications in the telecommunications, medical, and automotive sectors. This demand has led to the emergence of micro injection moulding (micro moulding) as an optimum technique for micro-component manufacture that offers all the benefits of conventional injection moulding such as high production capacity at low marginal cost.
The Research and Knowledge Transfer (RKT) Centre for Polymer Micro and Nano Technology (Polymer MNT) is a new facility within the world-class IRC Polymer Engineering laboratories at the University of Bradford. Polymer MNT allows access to equipment and expertise required for companies of all sizes to develop a successful micro moulding or nano-scale surface feature moulding process.
